Happy Friday everyone. Here’s something to reflect on over the weekend perhaps…
Today’s read is about 5-7 minutes. Post read pondering not included. I’ve heard language change in the last few weeks, from “new normal” to “next normal”. I think it reflects how we are still working things out with our current uncertain situations. With that in mind, I thought this article was useful to reflect on. Many of us are working from home without choice. Within that though, we still have some choices. I really like the idea of the 3rd space between work and personal life. Also, it’s just one line, but there is a heap of benefits psychologically to Being in Nature, so I love that was included. Especially now Spring has sprung. I also like the tip about communicating boundaries with your team and leader. If this feels uncomfortable to you, maybe start the conversation by asking them what they expect, tally that up and ask more questions if you think it’s unreasonable. Often, just getting people to articulate their expectations help them realise they are being unreasonable. If the penny doesn’t drop when they say it, repeat it back to them politely; “just so I’m clear, you are saying you want me to have five one hour meetings a day AND finish the XYZ project by the end of the week? How much time would you like me to dedicate to it?” (curiously, without any sarcasm or sass of course).
Last week’s riddle question and answer; What is represented by this sound pattern? EST EST EST EST Answer: Forest! (four EST).
This week’s riddle is; A man while looking at a photograph said, “Brothers and sisters have I none. That man’s father is my father’s son.” Who was the person in the photograph?
Finally, Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there. Enjoy your day.
Time for a moment to reflect, I think.
