Happy Friday everyone. Here’s something to reflect on over the weekend perhaps…
Today’s read is about 10-12 minutes. Post-read pondering not included. You don’t have to read the whole thing though; just the abstract and results headings will give you the main points. The pictures like Fig. 2 help as well. There are still conflicting reports about the effectiveness of handwriting vs typing. The best explanation I have been given is that when we type, we tend to capture word for word what is being said, without engaging with it. Because writing takes longer, we need to make sense of and abridge the information, and this being a more intimate process engages the brain more and helps us retain the information.
