Happy Friday everyone. Here’s something to reflect on over the weekend perhaps…
Today’s read is about 4-6 minutes. Post read pondering not included. I was ready with a different article in mind, and then I read this today… I am all for fun in the office. I delight in an enjoyable workplace. But not like this. I acknowledge the intent, and there appears to be a need to liven things up, but I fear a manager read an obscure article about how dancing releases endorphins and makes people 24% more productive, or some rubbish like that and, Boom, implemented. I shudder to think of the team member whose child is severely ill, pet or parent just passed away, struggles in for a vital meeting and then hours later they are required to dance a jig. All-or-nothing approaches are lazy and destructive. It takes more time and effort to find a tailored solution, which is why tailoring costs more! (It also fits better and lasts longer). If you were a leader trying to engage the team, how would you approach it?
Last week’s riddle question and answer; What word becomes shorter when you ADD letters to it? – Short. Add “er” and there you go.
This week’s riddle is; Which side of a cat has the most fur?
Time for a moment to reflect, I think.
