Friday Reflections 1204

Happy Friday everyone. Here’s something to reflect on over the weekend perhaps…

Today’s read is about 3-4 minutes. Post-read pondering not included. Short and multilayered for me this week. AI, and its more unnerving brother, Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) continues to develop. It’s interesting to me that processing capacity and energy is stifling advancement. Can you relate? Moreover, negative commentary on AGI describes when the technology identifies humans are a blight on the planet and should be eliminated. Does this mean that AGI might also recognise it’s consuming too much energy and shut itself down? Before we fall into a pit of despair, let me shift your perspective. If it currently takes about 100,000 processing units and a small city’s power supply to come close to human intelligence, how amazing is what we have between our ears? And we only run on a couple of Weet-bix and a cup of coffee!

Because it’s a shorter article, a bonus update on the Saudi Mega-city I shared a few weeks back:

Last week’s riddle question and answer; The names of four nations can be documented using the letters ACDEHIJLNP. The four nations are neighbours, and each name is five letters long. Which countries are they? China, India, Japan & Nepal.

This week’s riddle is;  There are five robots lined up from tallest to shortest. Eve is shorter than Adam. Alice is taller than Eve but shorter than Tom. Tom is shorter than Adam. Harry is shorter than Eve. Where is Alice in the line?

Time for a moment to reflect, I think.
